Viano String Quartet

Praised for their “huge range of dynamics, massive sound and spontaneity” (American Record Guide), Canadian-American Viano won first prize at the 2019 Banff International String Quartet Competition. They are also prize-winners at Osaka and Fischoff international competitions. Formed in 2015 at Colburn Conservatory, the quartet has performed at Wigmore Hall, Place Flagey, Izumi Hall, and Konzerthaus Berlin. They have collaborated with artists such as Emanuel Ax, Noah Bendix-Balgley, and Marc-Andre Hamelin. Their program includes works by Bartók, Piazzolla, and Beethoven.
